First the vendor in question is not leaking any information; she tells what happened after the fact, not before. Even when she confirmed that Patti was leaving QVC, it was after someone else "leaked" the info first.

QVC will be hiring new hosts so they wont be saving that much money letting some go. They also will be hiring phone workers to replace some that were layed off, but in another city's call center. They closed the one in West Chester which apparently only took care of about 5% of all calls. QVC's internet sales accounts for about 33% of their business so calls are still important.

QVC will still have 2 people co-hosting some shows and 3-4 models doing fashion shows. What I find interesting is that a few years ago QVC cut back on models doing overnight jewelry shows, but now even with the bad economy, they have models doing those overnight shows! But I also notice some models who had been with QVC for years are no longer doing shows for them and have been replaced with new models who probably cost less to book.

Let us also not forget that QVC has a new CEO (Mike George, who comes from DELL Computers) who started as CEO earlier this year. And Liberty Media still owns QVC.

Mike George has been the CEO since October of 2005 and after he took over,Dell started being the main brand of computer they sell.Before that it was HP.

One thing need to do too save money is,get rid of all the guests for the sampler type shows.The host at one time could present the items without any help...why not now?I can see them having a guest if the whole show is going to be the same brand,or if the host isn't familiar with the item or is uncomfortable presenting it without any help.With the models only have them on fashion shows and only have female hosts doing jewelry shows. Also don't have models doing purse shows,there's no need of having a model for every color of purse.
