Just a rant:

I couldn't be a home at 2:30 today so I set the DVR to record "millionaire"
When I came back, I got one question on the show and the rest was a news break about Obama/Hillary

Things like that should be left to the news networks (CNN, FOX, MSNBC...) and not the networks such as CBS, NBC, ABC
If networks wish to cover stories like that then they should do it during their newscasts and not cut into network programming.

I completely agree, DaveD. Especially when Mama Meredith is involved!

This would normally be ok for broadcast networks as it involved the situration with our lost diplomats which concerns us all but the speakers you mentioned turn everything into something political which is typical BS.

I don't care if it's Drew Carey on TPIR or some other network show.
You don't see CNN interrupting the news to highlight the showcase showdown so it should not be allowed to be the other way!

Not just those speakers, but all of them on both sides politicize something like this tragedy ...equally.

CNN, Fox, MSNBC.... are cable stations and don't have an obligation to any community. While CBS, NBC, ABC are groups of local affiliates that serve their communities. It is the local affiliates station news director that makes the call on whether to interrupt the current program, to cover breaking news that the main news division of the network is carrying.

Sorry you missed Meredith, but coverage of this tragedy was more important.
