I was watching CNN this morning and it just occurred to me that the usual intro with Randi Kaye was missing. I went back and checked my DVR recording and the show did not open with the usual graphic into with video and pics of Randi Kaye. Furthermore, Alison Kosik did not open the show and introduce herself and add the usual "Filling in for Randi Kaye." I've been recording CNN mornings on the weekends for a while now and this is the first time I've noticed it. A sign of things to come or perhaps an oversight? I'm leaning towards the former as they have been diligent in running the video intro and mentioning Randi. Last summer when everyone knew that Megyn Kelly was on maternity leave her fill-in (usually Martha MacCallum) would go out of her way to say she was filling in for Megyn. Just wondering if anyone picked up on this and are thinking that Jeff Zucker is going to find a new morning host for the weekends. |

I was watching this morning and also noticed the absence of the Randi Kaye intro video and any mention of "filling in for Randi Kaye." We'll see, but I'm guessing Randi Kaye is done as the regular for weekend mornings. |

Almost always they will be sent to do on-location reports for big news but otherwise they are at their desks (or whatever the set is) and have reporters for that. They didn't run the promo or mention Randi again today. So I'm assuming that they are having tryouts for the weekends. |

She tweeted last week that she'll be back soon though I dunno how I feel about this on one had I like Randi a lot but Alison has proven this weekend that she's capable of putting on one hell of a leg show I'm torn |

True, but this trial is almost as big as OJ's apparently. HLN has been covering it W2W (minus Robin and Kyra's shows) since last summer and I don't think it's going to end this year... |

Well, if Randi Kaye is assigned to it then I hope it drags out for a while longer.....I'm really enjoying the rotation they have going. Hopefully the "soon" from the tweet that bkChuck noted is at least a few more weeks. |
