As she shared on her Facebook page simply as, "My Big Secret". Here is the announcement she shared on Wednesday afternoon: Ready for MY BIG SECRET! Here it Is...... .....Friends and family I have exciting news to share with you today! A once in a lifetime opportunity was offered to me several months ago and after deep prayer and much family discussion I have accepted a dream job as a (Evening) meteorologist on NBC10 in Philadelphia. This means I will be leaving the FOX family and re-joining the NBC family. Many of you may remember that I started at NBC 5 in Chicago, so this is a homecoming of sorts. I will still be working at FOX for the next few weeks, so we have plenty of time to spend together and when I start in Philadelphia you are all coming with me for the next chapter in our lives. This is a happy decision, so no tears…yet. I feel truly blessed to be invited to be part of another great, historical American city. My bosses at FOX have been supportive and the decision to leave was entirely mine. I am grateful for all of the opportunities they have afforded me to cover amazing weather, share stories and work with outstanding colleagues. Soon I will be joining a fantastic team in Philadelphia where I look forward to new challenges, making more friends and becoming part of that community. A very special thanks to NBC10 News Director Anzio Williams and FOX 32 Chicago News Director Matt Piacente and my agent Matthew Kingsley for making this happen, you are three world-class people. So, everyone…this is not good-bye, I am not abandoning Chicago, it will always be home and I will be back often to visit family and friends. You are now just joining me on this adventure to create a bigger and greater family combining the “City of Big Shoulders” and “The City of Brotherly Love.” ****************************************************************************************************** I find it ironic that Tammie will be heading to the same city where Amy Freeze got her first major job in weather before heading to Fox Chicago in 2007. Cappers, get ready to end one era (for the second time in Chicago) and for those people in Philadelphia starting sometime after February--hopefully, fun times are coming your way! And who knows--future "Weekend Today" duties could be calling just like what Amy Freeze did on a few occasions. I wish Tammie and her family nothing but the best. |

Yeah, it's kind of a shame she's leaving Chicago, because she is actually a very accurate forecaster - besides the obvious beauty. Too bad all we're left with is three drips not worth my time... However, I, too, am happy for her and wish her well in her new assignment. bigzman! |

And to top it all off, she is just coming off winning Midwest Weather Meteorologist of the Year at the Chicago Emmy Awards this past December. |

Good luck to her on the move. They are similar sized markets. |
