Call me a conspiracy theorist but NBC is setting her up to fail.

First off by taking her they did weaken Fox news primetime ( Still trying to fill that 9pm gap)

They did this to GMA When they hired Josh for the sports channel & did nothing with him & then taking Sam Champion leaving gma with a newbie in Ginger Zee ( Yes that one backfired on NBC). & then sticking him in an atrocious morning show on the weather channel & then thinking so little of him they LET HIM FILL IN ON GMA!

Now with Megyn. Take a women from a conservative channel who has hatred from liberals for even working at fox & stick her in between Today & KLG & HODA.

Megyn's base is not following her to 9am. She is not taking Ripa's crowd. Her Sun show already bombed.

Hey good for her for getting the money but she better plot out her rebound job now.

This is NOT a bash Megyn post but I think NBC took her to sabotage her & for them is she does work out & hits a home run they still win.

I agree CS. I don't know if Megyn was in on the sex scandal stuff going on within Fox or not. If my memory serves me correctly that was about the time she left Fox. And it also appears to me she is bombing in about everything she is doing. And there is another ex fox anchor you don't hear about and she is at NBC to I think and that's Gretchen.Megyn makes more news than Gretchen. Anyway that is just a observation. R.

I agree with the sentiment of what folks are saying. But, in the End Megyn will be fine.

NBC did not woo her away from FOX to keep her from FOX or CNN or ABC. I think they want her to sit at the big kids today at 7 a.m. with Savanna. This 9 a.m. show & the Sunday nite gig is all about re-branding the "pit-bull in Milano Blahnik's" into something main stream American morning TV viewers can like or dislike, but watch. In pro wrestling terms she's a really hott "heel."

I think NBC has been slow to recognize the "Trump Trolls." Their like the walkers in the walking dead, you kill one and ten more show up.

If she is not Matt's replacement at 7 a.m. then after 2018 they will move her over to MSNBC and team her up with Stephanie Rhule (or like host) for a couple of hours after Morning Joe. If she is Matt's replacement they will wait until after the 2020 Presidential elections.

Sooner or later Roger Ailes kid is going to leak all of the pix & videos daddy had of the "talent," that's got to be worth at least 500,000 views to a morning show host like Megyn Kelly.

I dont think you can ever send her to ms as every story would be "Megyn Failed & is getting demoted" (See Brian Williams).

I wonder if she can even be sent to ms in her contract.

I ask the board to bear with me in my following statements as I like Megyn so not a bash but a view that may be controversial but has to be said in a frank discussion.

If you look at the most popular female morning show anchors it was the girl next door/pta mom type. The Joan Lunden/Katie Couric/Savannahs. Yes there are exceptions most notably Diane Sawyer going from that stone faced serious newswoman to a morning anchor but it did take time.

Megyn now is Stone Cold & Hard News. I say now because way back when she did show the other side of herself (the side you need in the mornings).

But I dont see her connecting with a morning news viewer crowd. How do you see her fitting in between Savannah & Happy Hour with KLG & Hoda?

We havent even been told what kind of show she is doing.
Is it the 3rd hour of Today
Is it the 3rd hour in the Al & Dylan Mold
Is it some other direction?

To do a 9am show being stone cold & serious will not do.
Can she or will she want to do a 180 to try to get that crowd?

I would have loved to see her do some documentaries as her transition but now she got a failed Sunday night show hanging over her & a lot of people already are rooting for her to fail.

Yes this is going to sound sexist but for the 9am hour she is going to have to soften her demeanor & image. Is that unfair to say, of course. But in tv land the only thing that matters is ratings. I dont think a hard edge Megyn ( Or anybody for that matter) cuts it in the 9AM slot or even more in the 7AM slot.

Look at Deb Norville the viewers didnt take to her & it took her years to recover & then going to a syndicated news/tabloid show rather than back to news.

Again this is Not to bash Megyn but just honest thoughts I have with this whole situation.


A message to Megyn. I hope you go & hit a home run & then this whole board can throw my posts back at me & tell me how wrong I was!

The big question all along is:
Who will actually watch that 9 a.m. hour and what types of people will actually resonate with what Megyn has to say?

In my case, no and I am bet it will be the people who can identify with her message and what direction our country will be doing going forward.

Clearly, it is not going to be the happy-golly-oh-gee-whiz hour that Al, Shenielle, and Dylan provided during the last few years.

Instead, this is what the show will be about...according to a friend of mine who pulled up this description in the AT&T U-Verse Guide button:

"Host Megyn Kelly features interviews with celebrities and notable guests, inspiring stories of people doing remarkable things, cultural influencers, newsmaker exclusives, popular topics and controversial issues that explore different viewpoints."

She was a hit at FNC because that audience—-old white men—loved her.
They’re certainly not watching her at 9 a.m.

Not crazy about the idea of making Megyn part of the Today Show format, but then again I'm not a highly compensated network executive.

And the pants... get used to them. You will be seeing Megyn in pants on a regular basis.

Yeah, I hope you're wrong..especially after all the recent caps with her in dresses and skirts.
