I know not many people will want to say where they're from but just in case if people are interested to share who started covering news in their area in their local news channel who are now national or was national.

Jane Skinner, formerly at Fox News and Mrs. Roger Goddell, was a local here at WITI Fox 6 here in the 90's

Ginger Zee used to be the weekend meteorologist at WEYI Flint/Saginaw Michigan. Shes at 9:42 of this silly video.

Speaking of Ginger, she also spent a few years in the late 2000's at WMAQ, NBC 5 in Chicago doing the weather on weekends before jumping to GMA.

Also, Robin Meade was also on NBC5 in the late 1990's, primarily working as a weekend morning anchor--many years before joining HLN.

Finally, Jane Pauley worked at was then called NewsCenter 5 in the middle 1970's before joining the Today show--and we all know what happened after that.

Gretchen Carlson was in my hometown of Cleveland in the early 1990's.

Woio TV 19, she worked with Denise Dufula, it was a
all female newscast but no one was interested in it.

My area had Shyann Malone and Madison Alworth on 10 News before going HLN and FBN. Isabel Morales was on ABC Action News before CNN. I count Annie Sabo from News Channel 8 since she did a season for the Big Ten Network. Also, Laura Rutledge and Erin Andrews were on Fox Sports Florida/Sun Sports (now Bally Sports).

Fairbanks, Alaska’s only claim to national fame was Libby Casey; she started out on KUAC public radio before heading straight to Washington (C-SPAN, the short-lived Al-Jazeera America, and now The Washington Post).

Jillian Barberie formerly of Good Day LA spent a few years at WSVN in Miami. Felicia Combs was here in West Palm Beach for a while and briefly at WSVN before the Weather Channel. Suzy Kolber of ESPN was also in West Palm Beach before moving on.

Autumn Johnson had a cup of coffee here in Augusta, GA.. She's done work with the Big 10 network, Atlanta Dream and the NBA2k league.
