CNN reporter Omar Jimenez and his crew were arrested by the Minnesota State Police even though they had their press credentials on them. They were later released and the Governor issued an apology. Then Kaitlin Rust, a local reporter from Louisville Kentucky, was shot by pepper rounds by police along with her cameraman (both were white) and clearly, the cop knew what he was doing and still fired away (I hope that cop is IDed, fired, and arrested for Assault) and the CNN building was attacked. |

A photographer for one of the Minneapolis stations was also left blind in one eye permanently after a rubber bullet hit her in the eye. |

Also, VICE News crew was attacked. There is precedent for suing and winning. In 2004 a Boston college student was killed by a crowd-control projectile fired by a special gun designed to fire them. Her family got $5.1 million in a settlement with the city of Boston and settled a $10 million lawsuit with the weapon's manufacturer. Didn't bring her back but did get Boston to stop using and destroy the guns, other police departments stopped using the guns too. |

this going to be new normal thing to happen now. since hard to tell who bad or good. also fact people are coming in from other city's or other groups to start uprising in riots. we will see more of this over the years |

i do not get reason why they attacked her. but understand why they hate fox news right now too. they do not think fox news is look out for people but select few people |

as photographer and told by the local news paper and few other news outlet and sport photographer when out and about you assume all risk taking photo. since your putting your life on line. same for reporters too. never know when something bad going to happen. |

Of course reporters and photojournalists take risks but in a open and free society that respects free speech, journalists are not supposed to be targets of governments and even protected by the government. Dictatorships are another story, they've attacked, restricted, jailed or kicked journalists out of a country. |
