She will leave the anchor desk after five years to take on more interview style roles starting after Election Day--which includes digital, streaming, Sunday Morning, and 60 Minutes. As she said in an email to the CBS News staff: “I don’t need to tell you what a transformative time our business is facing. she had the job 5 years. they were in last place every day of those 5 years. the only surprise is that she lasted this long. |

CBS will be undergoing a total revamp. Instead of your usual rundown of the day's headlines, there will be some elements that has made 60 Minutes the brand so distinctive, so powerful. There will be two co-anchors, one from their streaming service and the other one is a veteran from WCBS2 in New York. Multiple reporters will be out in the field, reporting on key events--especially when there is extra context needed on thoroughly covering events in other countries. More in-depth reporting will be at the heart, even more Q&A than your typical news program. This format is also used in an hour-long format on CBC's popular nightly broadcast, [url]The National[/url]. Realizing we are living in this evolving landscape and everyone consumes media in so many different ways--especially with the CBS app, the Audacy app, in podcast form, and every newscast is on YouTube a few hours after its' live airing. In another aspect, when Norah's run ends in Washington, D.C. and becomes a senior correspondent--the news division will return to New York City at the CBS Broadcast Center. Call me crazy, but I'm putting my money on Anne-Marie Green. Pretty good time for her to be on a vacation. Bring the hottie from their 4am show to do the evening news. |

I did notice one thing in that article, the omission of Katie Couric. You'd think that they would include her alongside Cronkite and Rather. Could be a lack of respect showing there. But who knows. |
