Post subject:  Suzy Kolber on Awful Announcing Podcast

After being laid off by ESPN in 2023, she opened up first about her layoff to Richard Deistch on his Sports Media Podcast on September 10.

She talked about that with Brandon Contes, along with being the host and executive producer of a series "The Originals" which premiered last week on the Scripps Sports Network.

They also discussed her cringe moment when Super Bowl III MVP Joe Namath kissed her during a sideline report for Monday Night Football, how that awkward moment have been handled in today's era of everything going viral.

She also talked about the AI moment involving Texas QB Arch Manning and clearing the air with ESPN college football sideline reporter Holly Rowe. I am sure everyone knows the story about that, and even Rece Davis mentioned about it on his Instagram after her apology in saying that this matter "should be kept private."

Towards the end, she talked about the near tragedy of Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin miraculously came back to light after collapsing during a MNF game in Cincinnati--when the NFL smartly decided to cancel the second half of that game.

The best part was when she discussed the one moment when Charissa Thompon admitted on a podcast that she would fake a sideline reporter during her early days at Fox Sports and the larger role of women in sports media.

For someone who was the first face on ESPN2, aka "The Deuce" and helped launch the first X Games, even being a major fixture at the NFL Draft, she seems very happy and grateful for the 27 years she spent at The Worldwide Leader.
Really great podcast, so check it out when you get a chance:
