The 24th annual Division Series begins with this surprising matchup between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Colorado Rockies. Both teams had to play a Game 163 on Monday; the Brewers defeated the Cubs to win the NL Central, but the Rockies weren't so lucky, as they lost to the Dodgers and failed to capture their first ever division title. However, they did beat the Cubs in a thirteen inning thriller to advance to the NLDS; their first playoff advancement since winning the pennant in 2007. For the Brewers, this is their first postseason appearance since 2011, and they mean business. Milwaukee has the NL's top record, meaning the road to the pennant goes through them. It's hard to choose between these two, but I know this, it will be a very captivating series. Prediction: Rockies in five #1 |

My key for Colorado, how will their pitching hold up against Milwaukee's bats of Lorenzo Cain, Ryan Braun, and sure to be NL MVP in Christian Yelich? I just don't see it. The Rockies would have to split one of the first two games in Wisconsin to have a chance once they play in the thin air one mile above sea level at Coors Field in Denver. |
