This year's National League Championship Series features two teams who played an extra game to win their divisions. The Milwaukee Brewers needed a 163rd game to wrap up the NL Central, and with that, they locked up the NL's best record, hence why they have home field advantage in this series. The Dodgers won Game 163 to take the NL West, and finished second overall in the entire National League. This season marks the 50th anniversary of the League Championship Series, as well as the Brewers franchise as a whole. The Brewers are in their third overall LCS, having won the 1982 ALCS over the California Angels and lost the 2011 NLCS to the St. Louis Cardinals. The Dodgers are in the NLCS for the third straight year, and in each of the last two times, they faced the Cubs--losing in 2016 and winning in 2017. The Brewers swept the Rockies to reach, while the Dodgers defeated the Braves in four games. LA is dead set on returning to the World Series, and though it won't be easy, they'll succeed.
