For the second straight year, the Boston Red Sox and the Houston Astros will meet in the postseason, but this time in the ALCS. Last year, the Astros defeated the Red Sox in a four game ALDS en route to their first World Championship, and now they are four wins away from their second straight World Series appearance. The LCS turns 50 this season, and regarding the Red Sox, their four game ALDS win over the Yankees puts them in the ALCS for the seventh time in franchise history--they are 5-1 in their past appearances. The Astros are in the LCS for the sixth time in franchise history, and that includes being part of the very first LCS in 1969, losing the National League pennant to the Mets. They lost to the Mets again in 1986, and they reached in 2004 and 2005, winning in the latter year to reach the World Series for the first time in franchise history. This is Houston's second straight ALCS appearance, they defeated the Yankees in a seven game series last year. The Astros are the defending champs for many reasons: solid lineup, good pen, and a powerful batting lineup. These are all things that Boston lacks.

Prediction: Astros sweep

#1

The Red Sox scored more runs, but sure they "lack" a solid limeup. Good yoda you're a Yankees homer.

Name one good Red Sox hitter not named Ian Kinsler, JD Martinez, or Jackie Bradley Jr. Can't be done, but I'll wait.

Astros' ninth inning rally attempt is halted by a game clinching catch by Andrew Benintendi; Red Sox are one win away from the World Series.

Red Sox 4, Astros 1

Despite being outmatched at every turn, Red Sox somehow reach the World Series for the first time since 2013.

The Astros first reached the LCS in 1980 against the Phillies. The Mets swept the Braves in the first LCS in 1969 :Kool
