The main event of Wild Card Weekend features the defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles facing off against the Chicago Bears. The last time the Bears were in the postseason was all the way back in 2010, when they won the NFC North and made it to the NFC Championship. After years of futile seasons, it appears that Chicago has their QB in Mitchell Trubisky, and they definitely have their new defensive star in Khalil Mack (thanks a lot Gruden :Tantrum ), and that put the Bears back in the playoffs. As for the Eagles, the team's Super Bowl hangover was so bad that they were actually in fear of missing the playoffs. After Carson Wentz went down, Nick Foles--the SB MVP--stepped in and led the way in the last three games, getting Philly back to the playoffs and putting them four wins away from repeating. The Bears are at home, but that team is not ready for primetime. Foles is; he proved that last year.

Prediction: Eagles by 7

IRT Da Bears:

To quote Tom Hanks from "That Thing You Do!:"

"It's very important that you don't stink today."

I tell you no lie, GI: Da Bears can't afford stupid a$$ play calling (I see you, Nagy!). penalties, turnovers, injuries...none of that stuff. Man for man, they don't have the talent to survive any mistakes.

Sadly, I must concur with Number One (are you Patrick MacGoohan from "The Prisoner, btw?) but I think the score will be a little closer, and I will still turn in with a bowl of rice w/chili and a couple of tall cans of Miller Lite.

Eagles 16, Bears 15

Cody Parkey misses a GW 43-yard FG; defending champions survive and advance to New Orleans.

3 penalties for 52 yards...all of them during the 83 yard score that gave the Eagles their first TD.

And then there was that drive where the Bears forgot how to tackle.

Although Cody Markey successfully made three field goals earlier in the game, we will all remember in what NBC analyst Cris Collinsworth told Al Michaels and the world, "a double doink":

Even during the first hour of ESPN Radio's "Golic and Wingo" program, they replied both Merrill Reese's call on WIP Sportsradio in Philadelphia screaming, "No good" several times.

Plus, the rather de-facto call with the crowd getting really excited then the equivalent of hearing a pin drop from Jeff Joniak on WBBM NewsRadio 780 AM and 105.9 FM in Chicago, "He hit the upright...and the crossbar."
