Is anyone else having to deal with the latest Windows 11 update essentially disabling audio controls? Hopefully a patch can be created to fix this issue soon.
I don't know what happened, but sometime this morning, I couldn't hear anything when I tried to watch a video on YouTube. I did all the usual audio checks. It seemed like sound was being produced, but nothing was coming out. Nothing was on mute. That's when I did searches on the matter, and I came upon an article saying that the Sept. 11 Windows 11 update had caused an issue with a computer's volume, and it was still being looked at. Even so, I went into my computer's system and I noticed that I had two different forms of audio, my HD audio driver, and my RealTek speakers. I switched from the audio driver to the speakers and WALLA, I could hear audio from a video that was playing.
So I don't know what in the world happened. How my computer could switch from one form of audio to another. But if it ever happens to you, check and see if you have two different default forms of audio. Switch from one to the other and see what happens.
