What type of video capture card can I get that will get pics from a VHS tape? The TV is not HD capable and the digital stuff has not happened for me yet so that isn't an issue. I'm not looking for a high-end tuner card to record programs but something that will just get images from the VHS tapes. I don't need super high quality either. |

If you're just looking to capture from a VCR, something like these would probably work for you: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... 7&csid=_27 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... 6&csid=_27 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... 5&csid=_27 Assuming you have a composite or S-Video output from the VCR, anyway I haven't used these products, so I can't offer an opinion on performance. From the little bit I read, the software that comes with these types of devices can be a mixed bag, especially depending on which operating system you use. |

Just make sure the card has a plug for input whatever output the VCR has. S-video would be best, and if not then composite (yellow RCA plug). If you're just going to make stills then you'll probably be using Dscaler so make sure the card is compatible with it. Here's a link to Dscaler. http://deinterlace.sourceforge.net/ |
