For some reason I can't use the bulk up loader in photobucket. Message says java version needs updating. I downloaded the latest version. restarted the computer and still get the message. I notice that the java icon isn't in the menu bar at the bottom. any clues?

What browser do you use?

I know that I use FireFox and use the "NoScript" function which blocks any java unless you specify otherwise. If you use FireFox, maybe check your downloaded extensions.

If the Java icon isnt showing in your system tray you can enable it by going to

start/settings/control panel/java

goto the "advanced" tab and scroll down to miscellaneous
put a tick in the box where it says
"place an icon in the system tray"

Id try removing Java (from add/remove programs) in control panel,
Run CC Cleaner to clean up the registry, then re-boot and finally go onoine and download Java again,
Chances are its a bug in the latest version of Java and hopefully they will have fixed this and the new version you download should work.

Thanks, it worked. I started removing the updates, starting with the newest until it started working again.
