This Tech support forum is a joke because we have some members that know their stuff but don't care about their next door neighbor :hey

I got the free version and no problems. Cobra's running Vista so I'm wondering if it might be something with the OS.

The pc came with 15 month free McAfee but i did not register it and i always get popup reminders :?
So even if it's not activated could McAfee cause Avast to block the web :?

Try uninstalling McAfee and see if that helps.Using two or more antivirus programs can cause problems and the operating system may become unstable.

If the McAfee and Avast are both turned on you need to turn one of them off having 2 antivirus on could be causing the problem

You could temporarily disable McAfee
Found this at the McAfee forum:
http://forums.mcafeehelp.com/showthread.php?t=213892
Double-click the taskbar icon to open the Security Center
Click Advanced Menu (lower left)
Click Configure (left)
Click Computer & Files (upper left)
VirusScan can be disabled on the right.

Do the same via Internet & Network for Firewall Plus.
