Post subject:  Dal.net not connecting

I try to connect to dal.net and it wont connect. After doing a little checking I saw there was a java update so I did that and it didnt help. Then I thought what have I done differently since I last chatted. Well I upgraded to IE8 so I uninstalled 8 and went back to 7. Still nothing. Then I tried downloading mirc and it wont connect either. I havent changed any settings in IE so not sure what the problem could be. Any assistance would be mucho appreciated :D

Well I dont have windows firewall on but mcafee firewall is on. But no settings have changed with mcafee. lemme rephrase that, I havent changed anything in mcafee since I was last in chat. Thing is mirc wont connect either.

I don't know if it applies to your situation, but I had some connection problems a week ago. In one chat client I tried, I got the following message...
Quote:
The nick HsF is currently being held by a Services Enforcer. If you are the nicks owner, use /msg NickServ@services.dal.net RELEASE HsF password to release the nickname. If the nickname recently expired, please wait patiently and try again later.

...so I then logged on to the dal.net home page with a different user name and pasted in the bolded text, and it released my name and I could log in with my usual chat client. I don't know if this is your problem, but you could try it with your login info.

Thanks HSF for the info :Kool

I actually downloaded mirc again and it works. I dont think I had it set up correctly the first time. Will probably stick with that.

Thanks again guys!
