I think if you want to DL a larger file you will need a program. You will need something like Replay Media Capture.

I use ConvertFiles.com because it doesn't require any software download, but it has a limit of 220MB. Any suggestions for another place that would allow me to save larger file YouTube vids to my computer? |

I forgot to add that you will have to pay to get the full function of the program. MY BAD!  If you get this program, you can save any kind of stream from any site (if not blocked). I have used this program to save streams from the shopping networks in the past for example.

Related Question... (mods feel free to move)  Is there something you can add to the end of a YouTube URL to make it automatically choose the highest resolution available for that vid? For instance, if you add "&hd=1," it plays a higher resolution version... but it won't necessarily be the highest. Like if the basic URL plays at 360p, adding "&hd=1" will play the 720p, but not the 1080p.... at least from my experience.  Thanks

This http://www.youtubedownloaderhd.com/help.html allows you to download YT vids and select the quality of the downloaded file, so if it has an HD version, you can choose to download it. |
