I was planning on buying one of those fancy HDMI capture boards to grab HD video off of my DirecTV DVR. The question I have is am I wasting my time because the DVR has the HDMI block hard coded into it? |

HDMI usually means HDCP. If you just want caps check out Directv2PC. It's been discussed here on this thread. http://wideworldofwomen.net/WWW/viewtopic.php?t=95604 If you want to be able to record video, then try out the Hauppauge HD PVR. http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_hdpvr.html |
