After some digging around, I answered a question I had posed in one of HSF's threads the other day -- Yes, Robin and her Morning Express team have indeed taken over the space that was vacated by Brooke Baldwin when "Newsroom" moved to New York last summer. http://cnncommentary.com/2015/01/13/mor ... -new-home/ This is Studio 7, and I thought it would be interesting to do a little "Now vs. Then", to take a look at what has (and hasn't) changed.... This is the studio looking toward both ends -- the normal angle in the new group portrait, and looking "forward" from the newsdesk perspective (you can see Robin at her table in the distance) One thing that really hasn't been altered at all is the floor -- in many shots, you can even pick out the same way the tiling reflects the lights.... ![]() ![]() The camera angle alters perspective some now though, because Robin - unlike Brooke - is elevated up on a platform instead of being right on the floor. And in these caps, you can also see that a few of the main lights (top left) have been kept in their same positions... ![]() Among other items we can pick out: The "pillars" off to the sides are still there, but wrapped in new coatings... The scrolling red news ticker and video wall is still in use, only now "Westhoven's Coffee Shack" sits in front of it The platforms off to the sides have been kept in place... And the newsdesk area has been opened up now that the "walls" around it are gone... Sharp eyes may have already noticed this -- It seems that Brooke's former couch & chair have been "recommissioned" for Robin's use. (with new pillows) Yep, the same ones are back in action for Morning Express, and on weekends now, Lynn Berry should be quite comfortable, being so familiar with them already Brooke can be confident her old digs are in safe hands *special credit to tdubya68801, HSF, kyuubi, and barrybrite . |

The main reason I didn't have much familiarity with Brooke's old studio is because staying up late out west to watch/cap Robin means I'm fast asleep by the time Brooke came on, but remembering the Brooke caps I've seen on here, I had a hunch they were one and the same. I'm pretty sure not too many other studios had a big red scrolling ticker on them. I haven't found too much fault with it yet (besides Jen's leg-hiding counter), but I like it so far. |
