When the staff of WeatherNation added an additional studio in Denver I thought that it would be great to see a few new faces. But it has turned into a viewing nightmare! They actually have 18 meteorologists on staff right now. You rarely see two together at a time. I remember when the station first started, you would know just like clockwork when Kristin Clark or Katie Ferrier would appear. But in recent weeks, I haven't seen Kristin or Katie even once! I'm sure they're still employed. Their bios are still on the website. But it has gotten impossible to know when it was someone elses turn in the schedule. Sometimes having too much of a good thing is a headache! |

Kristin was on just a couple of nights ago -- can't recall what hour it was, but saw her while flipping by. . |

The posts involving the ladies of WeatherNation have certainly stopped ever since the new meteorologists were added. It used to be that you could count on seeing Kristin Clark every weeknight, but now you might see three or four different people. |

Ever since WeatherNation added that Denver studio, the only personnel that I have seen have been from there. The only time I have seen any of the old Minneapolis crew have been on weekends. |

I spoke with Katie Ferrier over a week ago via Facebook message. I'd tried to send her a friend request a few months ago, but she only has her personal page open to family members. I sent her a message in her Other folder, which she actually responded to. Since I still had her message in my box about keeping her personal page personal, I went ahead and asked her about what has been going on with WeatherNation. She responded, but didn't really give me a definite answer. Katie did say that yes, they did have an enormous staff, and that the schedules were still being worked out. But no real answer as to the lack of airtime by the Minneapolis crew. Katie did say that she had been working in sales. Sales? I think that basically meant that there just isn't enough room for everyone. They got too big and just can't fit everyone in. They probably have some of the Minneapolis crew working behind the scenes. |

But where is Kristin Clark? Where is Susie Martin? Where is Miranda Hilgers? They still have Gretchen Mischek on weekend mornings. And Mase Michaels during the nights on weekends. But the rest of the Minneapolis crew hasn't been on air in months. They only show meteorologists from the Denver studio. |

It gets even worse: Apparently you can't download the videos anymore. I use IDM Module through Google Chrome, and the appropriate icon is no longer visible.

I use Flash Video Downloader with Firefox. I just double checked the site. I can still download the videos. |

Over in a thread about Kristin, I just posted what I've come up with that might help piece together the whole Denver studio vs. Minneapolis studio thing. pacificRT wrote: maestrodawg65 wrote: Has Kristin left WeatherNation? Her Twitter page makes no reference to them at all. Well, on one hand you could say yes, she has -- but you could also say no, too. Confused? Okay, let's try connecting the dots....and there are a lot of them! First off, going right to the source -- here's Kristin's LinkedIn page: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/kristin-clark/30/477/155 As you can see, she now lists her current work as being 3 things: Meteorologist for "2 Wheel Weather" (this is a private company, doesn't involve broadcasting.) On-Air Meteorologist for Media Logic Group On-Air Meteorologist at KARE-11 If you scroll down for details, it says at KARE she's a weekday fill-in only. Then she lists her time at WeatherNation as having ended this July. (Not entirely true-- since I spotted her on there in mid-August one night) So how can she be gone but still show up from time to time? We have to go back to how WeatherNation began... They were created in 2010 specially by and for Dish Network, when there was the dispute with TWC that might have had them dropped from the Dish lineup. Dish Network called on Media Logic Group (see above) to help form the new weather station. Media Logic is and always has been -- based in Minneapolis. Kristin, and a number of the others we're familiar with, like Katie and Miranda, were already employed at Media Logic. So they all became part of this by default. Here's Media Logic's staff page: (the division is named "Broadcast Weather" ) http://www.broadcast-weather.com/index.php/team/ As of now anyway, Kristin, Katie, Miranda, Susie and Gretchen, plus a number of the guys are still formally on the Media Logic team. Katie --as someone mentioned on another thread recently, is more active in sales than on-air. http://www.linkedin.com/pub/katie-ferrier/17/2a8/a9 Take a close look at the sales video on Media Logic's page, you'll see some familiar faces: http://www.medialogicgroup.com/company/ (down near the bottom of page) Now we have to step back and look at Dish Network. Remember, Dish is headquartered in Colorado. So the recent moves to establish a Denver-based studio for WeatherNation makes sense for them anyway. I think the whole plan all along was to gradually de-emphasize the "field office" in Minneapolis as they worked out the bugs and got the Denver operations up and running. It's likely the reason we're seeing less of the Minnesota crew is because Media Logic has been like a contracted service to assist WeatherNation -- not be the center of it's universe permanently. They're just part of the partnership. Kristin showing up in August was probably just her getting "called up from the bullpen" to fill a shift here and there, but it's probably going to be less and less common from now on. And the same goes for the others at Media Logic. To further add to the confusion, WeatherNation's own page still shows Kristin as part of the lineup: http://weathernationtv.com/on_tv/team/ But it's obvious that she's opening up other career paths now the less they need her. Hope that helps piece things together! . |

I just turned on WeatherNation at 6 a.m and Miranda is on. I think these days Gretchen does the morning shift on Saturdays and Miranda does it on Sundays. It has been said that the Minneapolis crew does get "called up from the bullpen", probably to give the crew in Denver weekends off. I've seen Katie do the afternoon shift on the weekends as well. Still no signs of Kristin Clark or Susie Martin. I think I read somewhere that Susie was on the administrative side of WeatherNation. It says on her LinkedIn profile that she is the "Director of Broadcast Operations" and Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) at Media Logic, LLC. Maybe that's why she has disappeared. A CBM is the highest level of certification that you can achieve in Meteorology. The other people at WeatherNation who hold this distinction are station founder Paul Douglas, Mace Michaels and Kristin Clark. Maybe Kristin is also a "bosslady" behind the scenes at Media Logic. |

They have a studio in Colorado so they can be closer to Dish Network? DirecTV has it too, are they going to put a team in California? Rich Eisen's new show on Audience Network originates from DirecTV headquarters in El Segundo. |

tdubya68801 wrote: They have a studio in Colorado so they can be closer to Dish Network? DirecTV has it too, are they going to put a team in California? Rich Eisen's new show on Audience Network originates from DirecTV headquarters in El Segundo. DirectTV carries WeatherNation simply as a channel, leftover from the dispute that they also had with TWC a while ago. But the difference there is, they have no direct (pardon the pun) stake in WeatherNation, as DISH does, so they have no say in where WN is based out of. Audience Network, on the other hand, is owned by DirectTV -- so it makes perfect sense that it would have a California studio. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audience_Network I found a good message board post over at tvnewstalk.net from earlier this year that goes into even deeper detail into the whole WeatherNation/Media Logic/DISH mashup : (The poster is from Minnesota and sounds like he has some good sources) ________________________________________________________________________________________________ January 14, 2014 I brought this up over in the WeatherNation thread. But, To elaborate further the the "current version", WeatherNation TV, was established by Proformance One Media of Greenwood Village, CO & Media Logic Group, LLC of Excelsior, MN. Performance One handles distribution and administration hense the CO headquarters. Media Logic Group (via Broadcast Weather, LLC) handles production and provides content. If you care for more details read on. Otherwise, feel free to skip over. Anyway, Media Logic Group is the holding company for WeatherNation founder, Paul Douglas' (& business partner, Todd Frostad) businesses. When the current iteration, WeatherNation TV, Inc., was established Media Logic Group transferred the trademarks from the "old" WeatherNation, LLC to the new entity, WeatherNation TV, Inc., for an equity stake in the new venture. The "old" WeatherNation, LLC was then renamed Broadcast Weather, LLC and provides the content to the new entity via service agreement. Dish, doesn't own any part of WeatherNation TV, Inc. However, a Echostar subsidiary did acquire some convertible promissory notes in WeatherNation TV, Inc. a couple of years ago. Not sure if these have been converted to equity stake. But, Kenneth Carroll, an EVP at Echostar was made a Director at WeatherNation TV, Inc around the same time. _____________________________________________________________________________________ What it boils down to is what I basically said up top -- that Media Logic, which Kristin and a bunch of the other familiar faces were already part of, have been content providers all along, but it looks like there's a move to shift more responsibilities out to Colorado where DISH and its partner, Performance One, are based. I doubt the Minnesota crew will totally be phased out, but we're just not going to see them as often. . |

Thanks for digging some more guys! What's funny, is my Dad said, that cute blonde was back on last night. I stupidly forgot to ask if it was the thin one with the sexy voice(as he sees Kristen) or the more chunky one that I forget the name of...anyway, dug some more , then checked here and saw more was added to this thread. Somewhere I found a page on her on the web, the twitter link was to a sex cam gal, that sadly was NOT her! So...saw the link to another post here saying she was going to be on that local station. Saw here real twitter page...and saw youtube links in January to....2wheelweather! Whaaa??? Looks just like weathernation sets, which makes sense from the good detective work above...so, hopefully this is news to yous guys...and this clips will make everyone feel better that has missed her so! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJ0wba ...
