This first clip comes with a story. Dave Walls was the sports reporter over at WSET. He followed in the footsteps of legendary anchor Dennis Carter, who retired after some 40 years in broadcasting. Dennis was replaced by a gentleman whose name I forget. Problem is the pandemic hit. And it was rather difficult covering sports during that time when either there were no crowds, or several events which got cancelled. Dave was almost a one-man band at WSET. He did weather. He did regular news. But when the sports anchor job became vacant, he stepped into that role. He stayed in that role for about 4 years. But for some reason, WSET released him! And Dave hasn't revealed what actually cause his release. This really upset viewers, and there was an uproar on social media. Dave was crestfallen, not knowing what his next career move might be. That is, until about a month ago when he revealed that he was hired as sports director at WDBJ.
