It's crazy to me that all her reports are done on a cell phone. Can they not afford a camera person for her?

WSLS tends to call their reporters "community journalists" or "photojournalists". It's a much different feel than what the other news stations in the area might do. Both WDBJ(CBS) and WSET(ABC) use stories that are either given an intro out in the field, or in the studio. Most of the stories WFXR(Fox) does are given an intro by the anchor, but you rarely ever see the reporter, unless their walking around with the person their doing a story on. You can hear the reporter telling the story in the background.

I guess it's all part of WSLS's slogan, "Working For You". Each of their reporters do stories that are more "community based". Not necessarily talking about politicians, or scandals. It's almost like each of their reporters are talking directly to the viewer, and not just reading something off of a teleprompter, or a script on their cell phone.
