Defintely agree. All the finalists were pretty much equal in their dancing skills but what made Ginger #1 IMHO was that she was the best at also portraying the character she played in every single dance she did. I got the feeling that Ginger was the judge's Chosen One early on but the viewer votes were probably what decided the winner.

I'm sure that there are people out there who still think that this is a rigged popularity contest. Did you really expect Ginger to win over Nyles "feel good" story? If Ginger would have won there would have been people screaming that it was indeed rigged, saying that the only reason why she won was that she was an ABC employee. Having someone on Good Morning America that they could provide as a talking point for the next month. Nyles deafness made him the obvious choice with the voters. Ginger didn't need to win. She's already popular. With Nyles you can run his story for about a month before he'll fade into obscurity. And Paige, well, she'll just take her 2nd place back to the Octagon, where she's already a popular champion. Well, to everyone except Rhonda Rousey.
