I'm not sure that's a bad thing for the show. Since they're getting a new production team, it might be worth watching again. I stopped watching sometime after season five.

Mariska's role is still to be completely determined but from what i've seen in print at least half the season she will be full time after that they are still working out.
If Kelli causes the ratings to go up they will keep her.
