Check out her book sometime. She is very down to earth and really enjoys talking to people, while being an open book on both her personal and professional life (take those parts as you will.) Note also on many of her interviews/podcasts on how well she is as a listener. I cannot think of any other governor, past or present that have similar qualities--even in major times of crisis.

Again, I don't like talking politics in general--this is just my general thoughts after reading the book (which is less than 200 pages and includes a recipe from her family cookbook, just FYI.)

As one Amazon reviewer appropriately said about Gretchen, "(she) possesses gravitas, experience, authenticity, and intelligence - not to mention a wicked sense of humor and a love of family and community."

Her interview on Colbert proved why she is amazing.
