Wide World of Women

Earlier today on "Redes ESPN" (ESPN Networks), there was a banner at the bottom of the screen stating that next Monday, that show and "Fuera de Juego" (Offside) will be gone. In place of both shows will be a two hour 'Sportscenter". To me, it's not surprising because both shows were always preempted for special events. For those who have watched, Carolina Guillen was moved to "Fuera de Juego" in January and Alba Galindo was mostly on "Redes" every Thursday and Friday. It's due in part to her still living in Miami, Florida and from the looks of things, she will never leave Miami.

For now, we don't know what the fates of those who worked on both shows will be. And if you follow Poncho Vera, Carolina, Alfredo Lomeli, Rosana Franco, Alba, Barak Fever, Pablo Viruega and others on social media, please keep up them. Also remember that any show on a sports or news channel is bound to being preempted for any special event. Then again, it's the case with any show on any network be it live or taped.

"Redes" is continuing on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat. As for "Fuera de Juego", it looks like ESPN Deportes is holding on to it, as this week's TV schedule suggests.
