The "talent" Ailes seemed to value above all was loyalty including the willingness to do and say what you're told. For FNC this meant towing the company line. There are plenty of women and men on FNC who say absurd things supporting that line. (Doocy, I'm looking at you.) I read "The Loudest Voice in the Room" from cover to cover and that book confirms it. (It's a dull read at times but worth it to understand Ailes.) As for women with beauty, that seemed to me to be even more important and why not given his target audience of older men who had social values coming from older times. I heard a discussion program yesterday saying that he set up FNC so that it was an attractive thing to watch even with the sound turned off: the ladies' outfits, the camera angles, the "put the laptops down", the leg chairs, the no desks and even the in your face graphics.

With years of sexual harrassment maybe Ailes was a sick man or maybe he was a monster but I have no doubts that he had a human side. In death he will be remembered though for what he showed the world about himself and that's far from as pretty as the women he hired.

I will keep this short and sweet, so nobody gets a board warning:

Roger Ailes succeeded when he built FNC into what it is, and he screwed up with Gretchen/Andrea/Juliet (and I miss seeing all of them). He left this world with a loving wife and more money than any of us at WWoW will ever see. None of us are perfect beings and we will all have to answer for our failures, in this life if not the next.

The rest of the internet and social media will have more than enough bitterness and spleen venting IRT Ailes. What's done is done.

Let it go.

RIP Mr. Ailes. Few of us would be here if weren't for his thinking to showcase pretty along with the cutting edge change he brought to the news media. He was an innovator. He gave the Murdock family their largest asset. The women who took him to task are no better than he was in trying to use someone.

Seriously of all of what I posted you quote my last sentence? Yes he was a monster to some but not to all. It was shameful what he did and paid for it. For someone named braniac, you're not acting that smart.

Roger was one of the key producers of The Mike Douglas Show, of which Richard Nixon was a guest before he helped in his 1968 Presidential campaign. He also helped Reagan during the debates in 1984 and George Bush 41 in 1988 before joining CNB, several years before Fox News hired him in 1996.

I guess you misunderstood why I quoted just that part. I happen to agree with everything you said, but your last sentence pointed to something nice and human about him that hasn't been heard much. I thought that was worth highlighting.

Now his son (whose 17 BTW) threatens those who came after his dad.

I understand he's pissed but his dad was an awful guy. Like O'Reilly saying that the hatred killed Ailes. Really?

That's hilarious! :D

If she had a brain she'd be on the floor playing with it.

its sad to see watch or read story about parents or people. that say they new person and he would never do that or be that way. you never know person unless your personally working next to person day in day out and spending rest time with person. then you will really know what person is like. any time your away from person you will not see what they truly are. sad to see anyone come out and make remark with out knowing everything about the person or thing or pet or animal.
