I know it's just a snapshot but they're getting thumped by Morning Joe which is the show they wanted to beat.
I have no idea at this point what they can do but if this continues I can't see this show lasting in its current format (whether that's content or personalities) past this summer. New Day was supposed to be the foundation for Jeff Zucker's overhaul of the network.

For me it's a shame as I was looking forward to an alternative to Morning Joe which has gotten real stale but I just can't get into New Day.

It NEVER and will NEVER cease to amaze me how CNN can continue to fail at the ratings game for as long and as consistently as they have. Bring back Kiran and build around her FNC experience. When they had her she never knew what direction the powers that be wanted to go because they kept changing it on her.

This makes perfect sense. There is no edge or angle... It always presents itself as middle of the road.

And like I complain about all the time, too much banner crap, TOO BUSY to look at it.

If Chris Cuomo were Christine Cuomo and she had the same views and personality as Chris but she wore low-cut tops and short skirts I bet the rating would not be a problem.

I think either the talent would replace (meaning Bye-Bye) or a new show. Either way Kate is more than likely will be replaced so will Chris and the other chick.

Yeah, I'd love to see them dump all of the banners but the weather banner is only something that is useful for people waiting around in an airport.

I would think that content would be the first to go......Kate's job could be in jeopardy as (IMO) there's little to no chemistry between her and Cuomo and Cuomo was seen as a big get when he was hired.

I would suggest that the go the Fox And Friends route and introduce some variety in the show with some cooking segments and exercise segments.......works for Fox And Friends and the network channel morning shows. Maybe people don't want straight headlines with an occasional interview with a politician in the morning.

I hear you, but I have a problem w/ even the weather banner in this age of digital and mobile devices... I would love to know how many people are relying on CNN's New Day weather banner for the forecast....ugghhhhh

American Morning did without it for a while or at least put it on the sides. Hard to find New Day clips that come even close to the old Kiran clips...

I think that is a perfect idea, to introduce new segment like cooking or workout to the show. I recorded the whole show for the 1st time yesterday (normally I just catch a little while I am getting ready for work) and I have to say that it was terribly boring. I just kept waiting for something interesting to happen, and I got nothing. I have always been a fan of CNN, mainly because I don't like the slant of Fox News and even though I like Morning Joe it gets repetitive after a while. But I would rather watch Morning Joe or ABC's Good Morning America.

I agree w/ this person. I was wondering when New Day started if it was going to look and feel like a "morning show" or a "news show". I think they are trapped in the middle of both concepts. Bottom line, Kate Bolduan is beautiful and the show is complete crap.

One thing that continues to baffle me about New Day is that they had that massive set built and they stay at the desk for the vast majority of the show. I'll never understand that.......if you have space you use it as seen in the Kiran clip. What's the point of having a couch section if you use it for the last 5 minutes of the show.

Agree 100%, the old Kiran clip makes the studio look spacious and open air. Even the walking around is an attention grabber. Everything on New Day seems to consist of "set shots" where each person is frozen in place. Well soon enough, the show will get what it deserves.
