Did I hear rumors about the swimsuit section being cut?? or was that for another one or sometime in the future?

Meaning their most recent one, which was held only about a month ago, would have been
the last time contestants were required to model swimwear.

Many aren't likely to notice in the United States, though. It's mostly under our radar--
This show has had trouble for many years finding a mainstream TV home in the USA, not being on
a major network here since the 1970s... and because its not operated by an American-based group like
Miss America or Miss Universe, the show is not held at a time of day that syncs up with U.S. audiences.
You could've watched it live from London on E! back in December, but it was 3:00pmET in the afternoon and on a Sunday.

Easily overshadowed by football with that kind of schedule

I doubt that the Miss America or Miss USA/Universe shows will
be cutting out swimwear anytime soon, though.
