FOX BUSINESS NETWORK TO LAUNCH EXPANDED BUSINESS NEWS LINEUP BEGINNING JUNE 1st

FOX Business Network (FBN) will launch a new markets-oriented lineup starting on Monday, June 1st, announced Roger Ailes, Chairman and CEO of FOX News Channel (FNC) and FBN. The latest schedule includes the expansion of business news in the morning with a new 5 AM show, followed by Maria Bartiromo anchoring the 6-9AM timeslot in place of the current Imus simulcast. Neil Cavuto will also unveil a new two hour daytime program and Trish Regan will make her network debut.

In making the announcement, Ailes said, “With a reengineered lineup and a 5 AM start time, we’re providing non-stop financial news with unparalleled market coverage and analysis. Replacing Imus with a business news morning show anchored by Maria Bartiromo and adding Neil Cavuto to two hours in daytime enables FBN to have tremendous depth. We’re also pleased to welcome Trish Regan and her fresh take on economic trends which will complement our coverage.”

Beginning at 5 AM/ET June 1st, FBN AM will kick off the network’s live business coverage of the day focusing on international market updates and overseas headlines. Anchor and Global Markets Editor Maria Bartiromo will take over the Imus simulcast spot at 6 AM/ET helming a three hour financial news program entitled Morning Money with Maria Bartiromo (6-9 AM/ET). The new show will feature insight from titans in the world of finance.

As the markets open, Stuart Varney will now cover the action on a newly expanded version of his show Varney & Company (9 AM-12 PM/ET), while Anchor and Managing Editor of Business News, Neil Cavuto will lead off mid-day market coverage and analysis with his new two hour program CAVUTO: Coast to Coast (12-2 PM/ET).

At 2 PM/ET, Trish Regan, who joined FBN last month, will helm a new program entitled Trish Regan Intel, examining the day’s market headlines and breaking geopolitical news. Liz Claman’s Countdown to the Closing Bell will remain at 3 PM/ET, followed by After the Bell (4PM/ET), which will now be co-anchored by David Asman and Melissa Francis.

Ailes added, “Liz Claman helped put FBN on the map with her drive, determination and sheer grit in securing interviews with some of the biggest names in the industry. We look forward to working closely with her as we continue to innovate our business programming.”

Post market-coverage will be led by FBN’s Deirdre Bolton, whose entrepreneurial industry show Risk & Reward moves to 5 PM/ET. Making Money with Charles Payne will remain at 6 PM/ET, followed by Lou Dobbs Tonight at 7 PM/ET, hosted by Lou Dobbs. Kennedy, hosted by Lisa “Kennedy” Montgomery, will take over the 8PM/ET timeslot Monday through Thursdays, while John Stossel’s one-hour eponymous program will run on Friday evenings at 8 PM/ET. FBN’s Gerri Willis will now provide personal finance and consumer news reports across both FBN and FNC.

so to summarize:
5AM - 6AM - Morning show (no hosts named yet)
6AM - 9AM - Maria Bartiromo
9AM - 12PM - Varney
12PM - 2PM - Cavuto

Going to be interesting to see Trish of course and maybe some more exposure to others. The open slots could turn out nice too. Of course some of the ladies may feel slighted but think they all are getting use and exposure.

Gerri Willis is the big loser
Nothing for Dagen, Lori Rothman or Casone either
Wonder if Simonetti or Jo Ling Kent will be on the 5 a.m. show

Yeah only thing I care about on that is is Gerri. I really like her but I like Trish hella more!. Sorry Melissa...couldn't hardly ever catch her anyway because of where they put it...Bad timeslot for my daily sched. Yeah Gerri is the big loser, even if she isn't happy with her show being cancelled I don't know that she'd go anywhere else. I guess she's stuck there.

It will be interesting to see who gets to anchor the new early AM show and to see Trish's show, having only seen a few clips of her from time to time during her days at Bloomberg.

Also, this is the biggest late afternoon shift since Gerri Willis replaced the fun gabfest featuring Rebecca (Gomez) Diamond, Cody Willard, and Eric Bolling at a bar inside the world famous Waldorf Astoria Hotel in NYC titled, Happy Hour.

5-6 AM Connell and Dagan?? they are up that early now it would be an easy transition. Although I am not sure the talent is there, they tried once before mid morning and were mediocre at best. IMO Liz took a step down also. Ailes little blip can be taken so many ways I hope all works out for her.

This would be nice but that ship has sailed

It's kind of ironic Melissa is taking a step back because IIRC, she left CNBC after Trish took her job at 11 a.m.

I am shocked that Liz getting her time cut in half has been completely overlooked!

FBN's true motto --- Lets keep treating our women like manure so we can glorify the new toys!

Casone, Byrnes, Gomez etc treated like crap.

Now lets add names like Claman, Francis, WIllis to the mix!

Dont worry newbies when roger gets new toys you will get a turn on the manure list!

1 hour of Liz Claman and 3 hours of Varney and 2 hours of Cavuto? Really?! Is this some sort of sick joke?

Legs and beauty are a wonderful thing and nice to look at. Myself being retired, I prefer the mature ladies of FBN and FNC. So sorry to see that the powers to be have decided to semi retire these ladies but it should not have been a surprise since this is the MO for FOX News.

Yep. They've been doing that for years. Its been rumored about some such as Donna Fiducia I know for sure and who knows about Linda Vester, or Brigitte Quinn but others have been rumored as casualties of aging.

It it somewhat odd though because there are a number of women on there that are still over 40. Maybe 50+ is the cut off point??

They have to play to that 25-54 Demo, thats their bread and butter. FOX forgets that most of these ladies are the ones that got them to where they are today.

And hopefully (depending on what type of set they will be using), some nice caps will follow. :Thumb
