I have a small question:

Are Americans that dumb enough to not put their cell phones in their pockets prior to ordering from their favorite fast food places?
I am from the generation where we learned to put the phones in silent mode when entering any public place.

We will see after Dylan talked about McDonald's experimenting with "phone lockers" at select locations nationwide:

It's across all retail and such. Americans trying to multi-task and it ends up slowing down the line.

One college president at a school I used to attend classes said in an alumni newsletter a while back that "we are losing our ability to conduct basic conversations."

I do understand people look at their smartphones way too much. At least, in one other regard--especially in department stores, you might need to have that phone to compare deals and maybe save some money (case in point, the Ebates app--there is a video on that tells you more).

No question about it, smartphones have taken over the world. In my case, save it for when you really need it--it will save your neck too from many useless trips to the doctor.
