Wide World of Women

Did anybody catch the New Year's Eve specials by Fox News or CNN? If so, can you give us a good reason why either or both news networks shouldn't just squash the whole idea next year?

Kennedy and Brooke are both covered up (especially Kennedy in damn near arctic Times Square), the music is usually second-tier (compared to Ryan Secrest's New Year's Rockin' Eve) and the male co-hosts are barely tolerable...especially Don Lemon.

Fox's (the mother network, of course) New Year's Eve was fronted by Steve Harvey and Maria Menounos, who finally tied the knot with Keven Undergaro right at Times Square before midnight! I thought they were a better alternative to Ryan and Jenny, since MSNBC should've tried their hand at NYE because they had an incredible 2017 with Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O'Donnell cracking the cable ratings.

CNN with Anderson Cooper and now Andy Cohen were getting used to, but they one-upped ABC with live performances by Celine Dion (Las Vegas) and Keith Urban (Nashville).

One special missing this time was Carson Daly's on NBC --
Because NYE was a Sunday, NBC had an agreement with the NFL to run a usual Sunday Night game, but then
the league decided only a couple weeks ago to have all games on the weekend be played in daytime, leaving prime time and late night
free for them to do whatever they wanted...
Daly says he approached the network around Christmas to see if they'd let him pull together his show at the last minute,
but they nixed the idea, saying there wasn't enough time to gather performers worth the effort, secure space in Times Square that had
already been claimed by others, etc. So NBC just ran repeats of Dateline and The Wall.
His show should return next New Year's eve.

To sum it up LAME!

I think the cnn women were told if they showed a HINT of Cleeve or leg their pets would be killed at the stroke of 12!


Also too many men! I would call the PSers but for some reason that has never been explained that term has been banned from this board even though this board is where I first heard the term!

I understand not bad mouthing women. But when did we have to play nice with the guys who for the most part we all cant stand & take time away from our ladies!
