Met some local anchors on a tour of a station but all except two are gone. One was Donna Pittman and then it was her second year in the area. Locals have so many changes that I can't recall everyone. I also met weather men and some news reporters when on assignment at events. My own ex Uncle is a weather man and toured his station in another state. But he no longer talks to the family or comes here anymore even though it is his birth place. I also toured a radio facility. Then I met people behind the mic. Honestly, none of this was glamorous. I live nowhere near a national news network. I read a blog about this area's news people and it really is not that exciting. Two women in ten years have sued stations in my area. A few women quit the business and find other jobs in and out of the area. Then you get the musicial chairs going as they switch stations a lot or they get fired or move on to other cities. Pretty much it is ratings driven and chemistry based as anyone can learn to read a prompter or file a report or do a interview. One of the few guys who made it from here nationally might not even be on the network anymore. Some women and men have to work up to bigger cities before getting hired into a network. But this guy somehow jumped from my area to NBC News. Another woman is at ABC, she came to my area after being in local D.C. news, but only does reports for the 3am news or does the radio updates. Not a well known name at ABC. Also following the women after they leave the city is tough. Some change jobs or keep bouncing around. Then so many women pass by you forget names. A few I followed as they went to other markets and saw them thru the web. But after awhile you get bored. Two quit the news stations they went to after being in my area recently and seemly ended their careers for life outside the news business. Oh yeah the biggest name in national news that was in my area is Harris Faulkner. Her rise was abrupt. She was only three years in another city where she went to after being in my area 9 years. Then Fox News hired her. They always hire good looking women, So one hot lady leaves and another replaces. We lost Kacie McDonnell as traffic reporter in late 2016 at the NBC and sure enough equally hot Jade DeGood joined to replace coming from another city nearby. We lost Diane Cho as anchor at the ABC and then Haley Harrison joined who is as good looking. We lost Stephanie Hockridge at the Fox and Abby Eden joined. Jadiann Thompson left but her former station hired Rhiannon Ally to replace her after she had left years earlier. And so on.

I have met mostly local folks over the years: Anchors Mike Robinson from WREX (played a round of golf with him, probably retired by now) and Steve Stadelman, WTVO who is now a State Senator in my State. Also met a local meteorologist Morgan Kolkmeier, who was at WREX and now works at WGN-TV in Chicago, while buying a WX radio through a station promotion. They were all very nice folks!

Also got to interact with, though not face-to-face, with our very own PAB from Fox News, when she was active with her Yahoo! site years back and later FB. She was really nice to all of us who followed her, and gave out trinkets like signed photos, etc. for free! (not many of the other FOX personalities did that back then...). She always seemed to just be very genuine, all the time, with no diva issues! :Thumb
