Cecily Tynan, WPVI Philadephia 7/23/26 Announces Retirement

I remember Cecily from her early years in news when she did the weekend weather at WDBJ7 in Roanoke, VA. So this week has been really bittersweet seeing two ladies from my youth announce their retirements. Noreen Turyn at ABC13 WSET just retired on Friday after 36 years.

Nice to see Cecily have a bit of a runway leading up to her final day.

I can only imagine the flashback clips similar to the ones I posted about Liz Quirantes, who stepped down from CBS12 West Palm Beach on May 31 after an over 30 year career. But as bittersweet as retirements are, it will be a new chapter. As she explained, it should be a thrill every evening attending all of the high school sporting events--which I hear are very competitive in most sports throughout eastern Pennsylvania.

Talk about a flashback! I still have this image saved on my computer in a file full of memes and funny images that I pull out from time to time. It's an old image of Cecily from her days at WDBJ circa 1992 or 1993!
