Anyone got one? Supposedly plays back ANY DivX video burned to disc, but the only ones I see are out in Japan.

This could be the poor man's alternative to Bluray and HDDVD since you can burn them on regular DVD's. You can also fit a lot more DivX vids than full HD onto a disc.

On the subject of quality I've used a laptop to play HD DivX vids on an HDTV, and it's really hard to tell them apart from full HD. If you watch critically you notice differences, but if you're just watching a movie or talk show interview you'll forget that it's DivX.

BTW, I do have a DVD player that's DivX certified that plays up to 720x576 (Home Theater Profile), and it works great. Just burn discs with DivX encoded files and the files show up on a menu when played. It won't play the high resolution vids though so I was wondering if anyone's used an Ultra Certified player and what experience they had with it.
