Wide World of Women

These clips and caps are from a 1978 movie called "Bloodbrothers," starring Richard Gere as an Italian-American struggling between living up to the macho dreams of his father and what he really wants to do, which is work with young children. (The drama was nominated for a best adapted screenplay Oscar.) But what's important in this case is that it was one of the first films to feature Marilu Henner, who played the so-called "town pump" who falls for Gere. This was in many ways the beginning of Henner's standing as a true sex symbol - "Taxi" premiered that year, and her physical peak in the early '80s ("The Man Who Loved Women," "Perfect") was only a few years away. And, as you can see, this movie played up her natural attributes. The scene where she's wearing nothing but an open men's shirt alone is worth the price of admission.
