Since my response to this post was lost in the reshuffling of the forums, I'll try to respond to it again.

She's the racing equivalent of Kournikova...OK to look at, but very little substance. She's pushing way too hard for the sex angle, losing credibility every day.

I don't know anything about tennis or Kournikova, but Danica has finished in the top 10 in the past 9 races, five of them in the top 5, she's finished higher in the point standings each year since she has competed in the IRL (12th in '05, 9th in '06, 7th in '07 and 6th in '08), and this year, she is ranked 5th. Sure, she has only won one race in 74 starts, but with nearly 2/3 of the schedule being comprised of ovals, there's only so much a driver can do to make a difference when your driving full throttle each lap, especially if your not in a Penske or a Ganassi prepared car. When you look at how many races those two teams have won in the past 3 or 4 years, it's quite an achievement for Danica to be the highest ranked driver of all the non-Penske/Ganassi drivers this season. Aside from the ovals, in 2007, Danica managed to qualify 2nd at Mid-Ohio and Sonoma and a 2nd place finish in Detroit, those three being some of the series most challenging road and street courses. She's bouncing back from a terrible season in '08 and this season she's been more consistent than her teammates. If she wants to pose partially nude in a magazine, that's her prerogative, but from what I'm seeing, she's doing an amazing job on the track. As long as she maintains her run of top 10 and top 5 finishes (and maybe another win), what she does off the track shouldn't matter.
