An update. Things are still similar sort of but there have been some changes in KC. KC decided to return with two local consumer and today show type shows similar to the good day franchise. Better KC which is a KC clone of Better TV, which Rhiannon Ally once did. But then Kansas City Live returned about 8 months after Meredith Hoenes the previous host of KC Live had left the city. What is of note is that Meredith did the show with a meteorologist, but this time around the weather man just does weather on the show. The woman is ok, but the guy who is hosting is a bit of a dork and might swing the other way. Still Better KC has two women. Kelly Jones was moved to the show so Alexis Del Cide from Oregon now works here mornings on KCTV with a new guy. Well Kelly's co-host is a former sports anchor named Lisa Holbrook, who worked doing sports at another station for a few years before leaving to Denver.
Then Sloane Heller quit the news business and works another job. Likewise a KMBC woman lasted a real short time and quit. Rebecca Gannon is her name. Then something odd happened to Jeanene Kiesling, she is hardly ever on camera, at least, but still works the KCTV 5 channel. She married a guy from WDAF and after the wedding she hardly is on KCTV5. But I did see one report from her a while ago. So other women are on the channel more. One of them is named Emily Rittman. Maria Antonia also retired after being in KC since 1984. Not sure what she was doing at the end as she kept getting anchor jobs and losing them and going back to reporting. She was doing weekends a year ago. But she got a male co-host and then he was paired with other women including Lara Mortiz on weekends. I lost track of who is doing what shift at KMBC. But Diane Cho quit the morning newscast and moved to reporting weeknights, so Jana Corrie took over weekday mornings on KCWE during GMA. However, I have no idea who is doing the weekend morning shows now. Might be Jana still as she doesn't do weekday mornings every day of the week only three days a week. Then Iris Hermosa left KCTV abruptly. And Mary Pulley got a male co-anchor on weekends. Michelle Bogowith took over for the late Don Harmon as meteorologist, sort of, on WDAF. Karli Ritter actually got a promotion to Don's shift, but Michelle took his spot and does Karli's old shift. Then I figured out Jen strahman, the call for action woman on KSHB, had in fact left the city and the segment was scrapped, as far as I can tell, but WDAF does a very similar segment called problem solvers that returned with Linda Wagner doing the segment. also Kimberly Byrnes took on weekday mornings at 9am and Noon as the other woman left to freelance with KTLA.
There have been other changes, but those are some of them. Rhiannon Ally turns out was married to another KC-newscaster. When he left to Florida then she left her jobs in NYC for Miami. So now Rhiannon does Miami news mornings on the CBS, Another ex-broad from KC who once did KCTV5 Cynee Simpson is on the ABC in D.C. where Jacqui Jeras of CNN moved to. There are ex-KC newscasters scattered all over the country. Amber Jenne left to Nashville to work an obscure channel nobody gets which is owned by the RFD TV people. That is all I know. I was banned from her Facebook when she married as she closed the place down and unfriended people. Stephanie Hockridge is in Arizona in Phoenix doing the ABC channel on weekends. And another ex-KC anchor Shelly Slater is in Dallas.
As I said last year women are a dime a dozen in the business.

Therefore, WDAF hired a young black woman named Stefan Chase to do a new 9am newscast and the noon news. Loren Halifax, who did the noon news for a few years was kept on Mornings. But then Katie Ferrell, Macradee Aegerter and Charly Arnolt were hired to do reports and replace the women who departed. Then Mary Pulley, another black woman, stayed on weekends but is solo now after Stephaine Hockridge left with Kimberly Byrnes doing weekend mornings. Then Leslie Carto was moved, after having been a general assignment reporter, in 2010 to replace Carrie Koogan on the "Try It Before You Buy It" segment. Susan Hiland does the 9pm and 5pm news as well. Tess Kopperman is a decent looking reporter on the channel. Terra Hall. Monica Evans, Gia Vang, Linda Wagner, Meryl Lin McKean, Kathy Quinn and Heidi Schmidt are the other reporter women on the channel. Looks like the channel got rid of the Problem Solvers woman.
Then WDAF has Karli Ritter doing weather along side three men. But, alas one of them committed Suicide. So Karli Ritter got moved from noon news to mornings. She came to KC from somewhere in Florida to replace Casey Curry.
KCTV 5 the CBS has Amy Anderson doing weekends and reporting. For a while she had co-anchors, but for about two years she has been solo weekend evenings. The channel just let go of weather woman Katie Horner after 17 years for Chris Suchan, a man, from Tampa Bay. They lost two reporter/anchors I followed in recent years. Rhiannon Ally who left to New York and now is with WCBS and Amber Jenne who is in Hollywood trying to get a job. They have a Black woman doing morning and noon news, Kelly Jones. Carolyn Long does the new 4pm newscast. Dana Wright who used to anchor does reports now. Jeanene Kiesling, Betsy Webster, Sandra Olivas and Bonyen Lee are the women reporters.
Karen Fuller, who is hardly ever in a dress or skirt, anchors weeknights. Iris Hermosa is a fat weather woman.
KSHB the NBC has Amy Hawley doing weekends and weekday reports. Michele Rooney who was on three channels in KC looks to have left. Like Kristia Klaus, she might be in town doing another job. Krista was at two stations in KC but both her and Liza Samora write for newspapers. Liza is with the examiner.com and Krista is with the KC Business Journal. Christa Dubill and Elisabeth Alex do evening newscasts separately. Cynthia Newsome is on medical leave. JiaoJiao Shen does the morning and 11am newscast before Days Of Our Lives. Najahe Sherman does weekend mornings. Sloane Heller, Lindsay Shively and Beth Vaughan are the best looking reporters. Christina Medina, Marissa Cleaver, and Lisa Benson are the other women reporters. Looks like the channel got rid of call For Action segments. They used two guys over the years along with a woman. They took over the sgement after another chnnel fired the guy doing the call For Action spots.
KMBC 9 the ABC station has a variety of women. Maria Antonia does weekend anchoring. Lara Moritz and Kelly Eckerman do evening newscasts separately. Donna Pitman does mornings with a guy, Kris Ketz, and on KCWE with Diane Cho. Jana Corrie reports, fills-in and does weekend mornings. Kerri Stowell does traffic and does reporting and fill-in anchoring. Erin Little is a heavy set meteorologist. Lisa Teachman does weather weekends and weekday mornings with Joel Nichols. Not many good looking reporters. Brenda Washington, Peggy Breit, and Bev Chapman are not the best looking.
Well that is a rundown of the channels and the women.

But how can we know unless/until the capping hobby spreads far and wide? What do the newsbabes look like in Cleveland, Cincinatti, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Baltimore, Denver, Seattle, Phoenix, Dallas, Miami, Memphis??? Houston, San Fran, Tampa, St. Louis, Minneapolis, and on and on... I see video capture devices on the shelves at Best Buy, Micro Center, etc... People buy them, come on men, use those gadgets.
