I think that some of the names mentioned here don't belong in "Desk Monster" but rather "Rare Legs."

"Desk Monster" is for someone who is likely in a skirt or dress (CNBC ladies, Colby, etc) but can't tell because they are behind a desk.

Rare legs would also cover DeGeneres or Natasha Curry or Dana Jacobson pre-2008 who never wear skirts. Ellen only has a coffee table to deal with most of the time, no desk there at all. Maddow would be someone who is behind a desk all the time but never a dress so who gives a crap.

it didn't used to be that way, but gradually over a period of time, it turned into the current version.
